Yokksh (यक्ष) is an offline first gamified study companion designed to help students build discipline consistency and long term focus. Instead of relying on motivation or social pressure the app transforms studying into a progression based system where every focused minute contributes to visible growth. Yokksh is built for students who want structure without distraction and progress without noise.

The core experience centers around an XP and level system where users earn experience points for every minute studied with bonus XP rewarded for longer focused sessions. As study time accumulates levels increase providing a clear sense of advancement over time. This system makes effort measurable and encourages consistency rather than short bursts of motivation.

Daily study sessions contribute to a streak system that reinforces habit formation. Advanced visual statistics including a detailed consistency heatmap remain locked until the user completes a full ten day streak creating a meaningful challenge and rewarding dedication. Progress must be earned and nothing is shown prematurely.

Users can create custom subjects such as mathematics physics law or language study and assign specific goals to each subject. Study time is tracked independently allowing users to see exactly where their effort is being spent. Clean visual statistics provide insight into daily weekly and subject based focus patterns without unnecessary complexity.

After every study session users can add short reflections or notes creating a personal learning log that becomes valuable during revision and exam preparation. Over time this builds a record of what was studied and understood rather than just how long the timer ran.

Yokksh is designed specifically with Nepali students in mind and functions fully without an internet connection. All features work offline making it reliable during power cuts low connectivity or data saving situations. An optional lightweight Nepal focused news feed is included to help users stay informed without encouraging endless scrolling.

Privacy is a core principle of Yokksh. The app contains no advertisements no trackers and no accounts. All data is stored locally on the device and never leaves the user’s phone. A built in backup and restore system allows users to export their progress as a JSON file and restore it later when changing devices.

Yokksh runs on Android and is distributed as a standalone APK. No additional libraries accounts or services are required. Installation involves downloading the APK opening it on an Android device and allowing installation from unknown sources if prompted. Once installed the app is ready to use immediately without setup or internet access.
